Martingale Blackjack
Is it possible to win big money at blackjack playing the famed Martingale Blackjack System that has been touted for years as the best blackjack system? Some say the Martingale blackjack method is the only Blackjack Betting Strategy guaranteed never too fail. Are they right or not.
Martingale Blackjack
Although there are debates about it, most claim the Martingale Blackjack method was created by John Henry Martingale (bastardized for whatever reason to Martingale.
Legend held it that Martingale secretly whispered to his high rolling customers that there was a sure way to win at roulette, and later applied to blackjack as well.
And the Martingale system, at first blush, seemed to make perfect sense. The idea was that every time you lose a bet, you double down on the next bet. Eventually, went the theory, you had to win.
And as a theory goes, the logic is absolutely impeccable. It is true, given enough bets, eventually the pendulum would swing the other way.
The only problem with Martingales system, whether used for roulette or blackjack is that it doesn’t take into account the string of losses that frequently occurs in either game.
For example, if you were betting a simple $10 a hand at blackjack, by the time you racked up 7 losses, you would need a bankroll of close to $3,000 and you would be betting over $1200 a hand.
So yes, in theory, the Martingale Blackjack Strategy will work, but generally, as Martingale himself must have known, players will run out of chips first. And while we are on the subject of logic, why would a casino owner bet against himself by touting a sure way to win.?
Blackjack Strategy
Another popular blackjack betting strategy became popular in the 60s. Counting cards was all the rate for many years until the casinos took countermeasures such as adding additional decks (most casinos now use 8 decks) and the use of automatic card shufflers.
One other strategy they were able to use is that security would throw anybody out of the casino that they believed were using card counting as their blackjack strategy.
So, with both Martingale and card counting out, is there still a blackjack strategy that works? RI Chang, a mathematician says yes.
